Blacklight is a unique, forward-thinking, independent transmedia production company established to create, develop, and produce original and licensed intellectual property for feature films, television, video games, books, comics and new media. Through this novel, holistic approach to media creation, Blacklight is uniquely positioned to create synergy and manage intellectual property across the multiple platforms that, collectively, constitute the future of popular media consumption.

Transmedia storytelling is the process by which a narrative unfolds across multiple media platforms in a self-contained yet complementary fashion. Each medium does what it does best - a story and its corresponding narrative ‘world’ might be introduced in a film, expanded through television, novels, and comics, and its world and characters explored and experienced through game play. Each franchise entry is self-contained to enable autonomous consumption - one need not see the film to enjoy the game, and vice-versa. The transmedia approach allows content to be created, distributed, and consumed in any chronology across all media platforms.
